SoundTracks Of A Generation is proud to present the songs and the life of John Lennon in a chronological soundscape!

Jay Goeppner, arguably one of the best Lennonesque singers on the planet, assumes the role of John Lennon.

This 100-minute retrospective begins in 1966 when the Beatles made the momentous decision to stop touring and concentrate solely on music composed in the studio which led to albums like Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Rubber Soul, Revolver, The White Album, Abbey Road, and the rooftop concert for Let It Be, as the Beatles’ final performance.

The second half of the show showcases Lennon’s solo career from The Plastic Ono Band, to his signature album Imagine, to Sometime In New York City, Mind Games, Walls & Bridges, Rock & Roll and concludes with selections from John and Yoko’s final recording, Double Fantasy, released prior to his death on December 8, 1980.

Jay Goeppner and his crack Soundtracks band intertwines these songs with multimedia images to create the monumental musical and emotional impact that John Lennon brought to the world.

presented by

Jay Goeppner

The man.  The driving force.  Arguably the top Lennon singer nationwide, Jay has performed in 22 countries, wowing international audiences with his channeling of Mr. Lennon.  Besides his wonderful voice, however, watch & listen closely as Jay weaves stories about certain songs, bringing them to life, and turning back the clock for the crowd.  It’s part of what makes THE LENNON PROJECT such a hit, and a unique tribute to the former Beatle.  Enjoy the show!

Tom Trinka

Our multi-instrumentalist on various saxes and keyboards is a perfect Swiss Army knife for THE LENNON PROJECT.  Tom’s been—as all our players are—a veteran of Chicago and national rock & roll acts, with his band Jump ‘N The Saddle shooting to local fame with their cult hit ‘The Curly Shuffle’ back in the day.  We’re very happy to have Mr. Trinka on stage right with his emotive playing.

Heath Chappell

The solid metronome of THE LENNON PROJECT, Heath is the glue that we as players look to and depend on.  His talent for always finding the correct tempo on a song is unmatched, as is his understated style & demeanor.  He has played domestically and internationally as part of numerous Beatle projects with Jay Goeppner.  Heath is our roadmap, an easy-to-read one, thankfully.

Alex Evans

A big talent.  Alex’s bass style is reminiscent of Paul McCartney or John Entwistle of the Who, which not surprisingly is one of this guy’s favorite bands as well.  Along with Heath, Alex fills in beautifully with his tenor vocals, which is a perfect complement to Jay’s Lennonesque leads.  Watch as his driving low-end bass lines push these songs to new heights.  We’re glad to know you, Mr. Evans!

Dennis Costis

The good doctor, actually a practicing dentist, brings a lot to the table while handling all the guitar duties for THE LENNON PROJECT.  Influenced heavily by the likes of Duane Allman, Carlos Santana, and George Harrison, Dennis utilizes these disparate techniques to nail the styles for these songs, and does it masterfully.  Equally adept on electric & acoustic guitars, Dr. Costis is a critical piece of this band.

Jay Martini

As the musical director & creator of THE LENNON PROJECT, Jay’s job—besides playing a solid piano–is to arrange the songs in order to help Jay Goeppner tell the story of 13 years in the life of John Lennon.  His attention to detail is manifested when audiences recognize these tunes, even the fairly obscure ones, from the first few notes.  He’s thankful to be participating with such great musicians in this venture.
