Previously, she has acted in her high school’s plays (Antigone, Macbeth, Midsummer Night’s Dream). She loves to try new things and experiment with new hobbies. In her free time, you’ll often find her spending time with friends, reading a book, playing volleyball, baking, or even painting. Her favorite book series at the moment is Once Upon a Broken Heart. Her goal for this summer is to teach herself how to play the guitar (wish her luck)!

Katie has had the joy of previously teaching the Beginner Acting classes this past winter as well as for the Moana Jr. summer camp. On stage, you may have seen Katie in Jedlicka’s The Bad Seed as Rhoda Penmark or in the RCSA’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Outside of theater, Katie loves to paint, rock climb, and eat good food! She hopes you enjoy the show!

Rob Scharlow (RCSA’s Director of Education) – is an award-winning theatre professional with over 35 years of experience, traveling the country as a director, actor, and educator. For 17 years, he was a key part of the internationally renowned Stagedoor Manor performing arts training center in New York, serving as a director, teacher, Director of Education, and Associate Artistic Director throughout his many years with them.

Now approaching his second year leading RCSA’s education program, Rob is proud to see it grow into a thriving, pre-professional experience for young artists and adults alike. In addition to overseeing, developing, and managing all educational programming, he directed last year’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical and the summer workshop of Static: Noise of a New Musical. This past fall, he also returned to the stage as Brian in WSRep’s production of Avenue Q.

With fall on the horizon, there are more chances than ever to get involved — through classes, events, and our 2025 season finale: A Cripple Creek Christmas Carol. This unique production will bring together students, community actors, and industry professionals, offering a rich, collaborative experience for all involved.

Thank you for your continued support of arts education here in Crystal Lake!
