Disney’s Moana JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life on stage. Moana JR. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.”
This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within.

Quinn Allison (Chief Ancestor) is very excited to be in Moana Jr, she has been in Singin’ in the Rain before, She loves to do cheer and make arts and crafts. Quinn is going into 7th grade at Lundahl middle school. Thank you all for coming to the show hope you enjoy it!

Norah Bailey (Pua) For years, Norah has been counting down to her 7th birthday when she would finally be old enough to join a production team and perform on stage! Norah has always had a passion for performing. Her first word of “hi” was quickly followed by “watch me!” She completed the Raue Center’s Fundamentals of Performance class this past winter in preparation for Moana Jr., and proudly expressed that getting the role of Pua was the best moment of her life! You can find Norah outside when not rehearsing – swimming, golfing, singing, writing stories, or simply enjoying a cold, crunchy dill pickle!

Sofie Baker (Ensemble) is a friendly, smart, brave, and adventurous person. She loves to act, dance, and sing. Making her debut on stage, here at the RAUE, is a dream come true for her. Sofie takes singing lessons from her amazing teacher, does gymnastics, and spends time with her wonderful group of friends in her spare time.

Abby Barrett (Left Claw) Hello I’m Abby! I’m a pan, cat-loving girl! Acting has been my passion since I was a little kid. I love to play basketball, hang out with friends, play with my dog Ozzy and play my musical instruments. I am 11 and going in to 6th grade

Serenity Bell (Gate Monster) has been part of the Raue School For The Arts for three years now. She has performed in many productions in the Raue and outside of the theatre. Her other outside activities include choir, basketball, and band. This fall Serenity is going into the fifth grade. She is excited to be part of the cast of Moana Jr. Serenity would like to thank her Mom, Maga, Papa, sister and friends for all their love and support. Enjoy the show!

Ross Bogacz (Maui) is a fifth grader and aspiring actor. He recently played Lionel James in the RCSA production of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. His creative ambitions were sparked by several humorous encounters with celebrities, such as Chevy Chase, MJF, Freddie Prinze Jr, and Alice Cooper, as well as a NYC trip to Broadway. He’s currently studying acting, dance, music and singing. Ross would like to personally give a shout-out to Darcy the Mail Girl.

Camryn Cleland (Villager) is happy to be performing in the musical Moana Jr. She is currently in the fourth grade and loves dancing, singing, and acting. Camryn would like to give her parents a shout-out for letting her be a part of theater. She would also like to thank the people who work at the RCSA for putting on the musical and creating a fun summer experience.

Eva Custodio (Moana) is 10 years old and going into 5th grade at Woods Creek Elementary School in Crystal Lake! She has been in several musicals, playing Babette in Beauty and the Beast, Michael in Peter Pan, Nemo in Finding Nemo, and Jack in Into the Woods. Eva loves playing basketball, cooking, dancing, and singing. A fun fact is that Eva hates cake!

Charlotte Farmer (Villager/Featured Dancer) is so excited to perform Moana Jr. for everyone. Charlotte is going into 7th grade at Lundahl and has been previously seen in Lundahl’s Singin’ in the Rain as Teacher, CLPD’s Descendants as Doug, CLS Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat in the children’s choir, and the RCSA’s Christmas Carol in the ensemble. Charlotte can’t wait to see Moana Jr. come to life.

Jacob Farmer (Hei Hei) is so excited to be a part of Moana Jr in his first role as Hei Hei. He is going into fourth grade and enjoys playing games, doing Legos, and practicing karate, where he has earned his first-degree black belt. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Amelia Flagg (Ensemble) has 3 siblings, 2 dogs, and a cat. She loves Asian culture. This is her first performance and she’s enjoyed reading and performing with RCSA. She’s met new people and made a couple of new friends! Working on Shiny (the song) was really fun and one of her favorite parts of rehearsals! She was on a wait-list for the program but got in on the second week and couldn’t be more grateful. She loves the Raue and can’t wait to work with them again!

Lexie Gomez (Right claw) This is Lexie’s 1st year with the Raue Center and she absolutely loves it. She first fell in love with musicals when she joined the children’s chorus in Joseph at South High School. This year, she enjoyed being part of Kathy’s girls in ‘Singing in the Rain’ at her middle school. Lexie also enjoys doing poms for the Cary Jr. Trojans, and will also be getting her black belt this Fall. She can’t wait to do more shows with the Raue!

Asher Gonzales (Ancestor/Ensemble) Hi! I’m Asher and I’m very into musical theater and just all things music. I’m so happy I got a part in “Moana Jr” this session and I will definitely audition to be doing more plays with the Raue Center soon.

Avery Goodman (Fisher/Featured Dancer) is very excited to be participating in such an amazing show, and being part of an amazing group. Being part of Moana Jr has been a lot of fun! She’s made new friends and learned more about acting. This is her first time performing in an RCSA production. It’s been fun acting with her best friend, Callan. She has been a lot of fun to act with. Avery would like to thank her parents for everything they’ve done to help her be in this production. In the end, this has been an amazing experience.

Isabel Green (Chief Ancestor) is very exited to be a part of Moana Jr. She has been in a musical before, Legally Blonde jr. Some things you might want to know about Isabel are, she loves playing volleyball, and she’s a first-degree black belt in Taekwondo. Isabel has also raced dirt bikes competitively, she is very outgoing, a picky eater, loves to swim, dance, sing, and loves to hang out with friends and family! Isabel wants to thank everyone for coming and hopes you enjoy the show!

Callan Kinney (Fisher/Featured Dancer) This is Callan’s first show with RCSA and it was a blast! In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, gymnastics, basketball, coloring, swimming, and baking. She would like to give a shout out to Ryan, Rhys, Mom, and Dad. Callan’s favorite animal is a dog. She has two – AJ & Dex. Callan loved working with her bestie, Avery. A lot of hard work and effort has been put into this production and she hopes you enjoy the show!

Isabella Lukasiewicz (Ensemble) will be going into 4th Grade and her favorite subject is writing. She plays soccer, and is in jiu-jitsu and Running Club. Isabella likes swimming, gymnastics, singing, dancing, and playing with her friends, brother, and dog. She has been in many dance recitals, but Moana Jr. is her first theater performance.

Evie Mayo-Schroeder (Villager/Featured Dancer) is thrilled to be a part of Moana Jr. with RCSA! Evie has taken classes with RCSA and the Music House School of Performing Arts in Chicago. Evie loves to dance and has studied ballet, tap, and hip-hop. She was in Woodstock Dance Academy’s Nutcracker Ballet in 2022. Evie loves going to musicals and some of her favorite performances include Hamilton, Annie, and My Fair Lady. Evie would like to thank Christina, Rob, Tess, AJ, Göran, Katie, Maya, Hannah, and everyone involved in the production of Moana Jr.

Ariel Moreno (Sina) is very excited to apart of Moana, with the Raue Center! Ariel has been doing musical theatre since she was four. She has been in several musicals before, including Willy Wonka, High School Musical, Singin’ in the Rain, The Little Mermaid, and has performed at many different events. When she’s not on stage, she enjoys reading, writing, and drawing. Ariel would like to thank her parents for always encouraging her, and her amazing directors for always helping, and making this amazing experience come to life.

Adeline Morson (Chief Tui) I am 12 years old. I love to read, listen to music, and draw. I am also interested in cinematography. I have been in several productions with RCSA. I am really exited about this musical and I am grateful I got to meet and get to know new people during it. Thank you all for coming and I hope you enjoy the show.

Evelyn Ostrovsky (Villager) is thrilled to be making her theatrical debut in this summer’s production of Moana Jr. She loves singing and making new friends! In her spare time, she likes to read, talk about horses, and play pretend puppies with her sister. Evelyn’s family (mom, dad, brother Ian, sister Inka, and Iggy the cat) are all very proud of her accomplishments!

Isabella Phillips (Villager/Featured Dancer) is rapidly becoming a master of the arts. The youngest of three sisters, this fun-loving, crazy kid is always setting up shows at home to entertain friends and family. Having taken ballet, jazz, and hip-hop lessons for most of her young life and, more recently, adding piano and acting lessons, she’s always eager to entertain! Izzy hopes to become an interior designer or a professional actor someday and is looking forward to learning the trumpet next year in band! When she’s not performing on the stage, she is biking, swimming, or skateboarding, playing American Girl Dolls, video games, or having play dates with friends. Izzy is very excited to be in Moana Jr and is making lots of new friends, because of course she is! She’s Izzy!

Ava Prather (Ensemble) will be a 3rd grader this fall at North Elementary. She enjoys making people laugh, being outside, exploring new places, dancing, and being creative. Although she personally has always found to way to put on a show for friends and family, this will be her first time taking the “real” stage in a musical performance!

Ava Ramirez (Ensemble/Featured Dancer) is going into 5th grade and has been in the choir for Finding Nemo. Moana, Jr. is Ava’s first acting and dancing role. She enjoys dancing, singing, acting, hanging out with friends and swimming. A fun fact about Ava is she has donated her hair to Locks of Love. Her favorite musical is Hamilton and she named her cat, Schuyler (after the Schuyler sisters). When Ava grows up she wants to be a vet!

Hailey Rein (Ensemble) is an energetic and enthusiastic young performer in her first production. She has a passion for entertaining and bringing smiles to all. Hailey is looking forward to continuing her pursuit of theatre. She is an animal lover, iPad enthusiast and an overall active young lady. Meow 🙂

Adley Sheahan (Gramma Tala ) This is Adley’s second appearance on the Raue Center stage with RCSA. Adley has loved musical theatre from a very young age and always dreamed of one day performing. She started her musical theatre journey as a cast member of RCSA’s production of Diary of a Wimpy Kid- The Musical. Adley was beyond thrilled to join the cast for Moana Jr. this summer and even more thrilled to be cast as Moana’s Gramma Tala. She can’t wait to bring Gramma Tala’s wise old soul to life on stage! Off stage, Adley enjoys reading and writing stories, art, biking, rollerblading, playing with her dogs, and watching movies with her family on movie night. She also participates in her school’s dual language program, chorus, and art club. She would like to thank her family, friends, teachers, and members of the RCSA team for all their support.

Luisa Steere (Ensemble) This is Luisa’s first theater production, and she’s really excited to be a part of several of the ensembles. She’s previously been involved in tap and ballet, as well as singing and percussion concerts through Leggee Elementary. Luisa is also interested in parkour, camping, reading, and writing, and is looking forward to starting 3rd grade this fall! Her mom has worked as a stagehand for many years and being a part of a production in a real theater is so exciting.

Frank Truscott (Villager) is a fifth grader at Indian Prairie Elementary School, and this is his fourth production with the Raue. Previously, he performed in “A Ghost Tale for Charles Dickens Jr,” “Seussical Kids,” and “Peter Pan.” He also plays football for the Crystal Lake Raiders. Frank enjoys reading, drawing and animating, and playing video games.

Julia Unverzagt (Te Ka/Te Fiti) This is Julia’s 2nd production with RCSA. Last spring she appeared in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” as Patty Farrell. She has been dancing at the Judith Svalander Ballet school for 7 years, appearing in multiple productions, including the annual Nutcracker and this year’s Sleeping Beauty. Julia loves being on stage as an actor, singer, or dancer and has been part of numerous local plays and showcases. She loves seeing plays and musicals. Her dream role would be Elphaba in Wicked. Julia dedicates this performance to her family and her oversized fluffy cat.

Scarlett Ivy Walker (Tamatoa) fell in love with theatre, dance, and performing in the 1st grade, after her debut performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. Scarlett has been cast in several theatre productions including The Little Mermaid Jr., Peter Pan Jr., Aladdin Jr., and several other performances in the dual language program at her grade school. Scarlett’s performative interests expand beyond the stage. In the off-season, she is a competitive cheerleader and enjoys tumbling and playing the Cello. She is beyond excited to join the stage with her fellow performers in the upcoming performance of Moana Junior.
Creative Team Bios

Christina Giorgi ( Director) –
Christina Giorgi is a recent graduate from Illinois Wesleyan University where she obtained her BFA in acting with a minor in Hispanic studies. When not acting, Christina has a passion for teaching and directing. For the past two summers, she has worked as a teaching artist for young performers at the New London Barn Playhouse. Born and raised in Crystal Lake, Christina is thrilled to be working with young performers and providing them a safe space to expand on their dreams of becoming a performer just like she had at their age.

A.J. DePetris (Music Director) – is thrilled to be working on Moana Jr. with RCSA! A.J. is a rising senior at Point Park University where he will be receiving a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Music. Throughout his time at school, he has performed as well as music directed many productions, and he hopes to continue his theatrical journey pursuing both. He has music directed musicals, showcases, and most notably an original opera One-Log Bridge at the New Hazlett theatre in downtown Pittsburgh last year. While studying at school, he has also performed in several musicals and plays (R&H’s Cinderella, William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, etc.). Special thanks to his parents, his best friend Sam Gibson, and Nick Hrutkay for being in his corner through everything! Enjoy the show!

Tess Rowan (Choreographer) is a theater artist from the Washington, D.C. Area. She has trained at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Stagedoor Manor, the New York Film Academy at Harvard University, and the Broadway Artists Alliance. Select theater credits include Break My Bones (The Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center YPF), Static (Capital Fringe Festival, Flying V Theatre), Mr. Stranger (Stagedoor Manor Dramafest), Pie from thePattersons (Stagedoor Manor Dramafest), Your Carving Footprint (Saxon Stage After Hours, NOVA Outside), Gravediggers (Saxon Stage After Hours.) Tess has training in a variety of dance styles and teaches at a dance studio in Northern Virginia.
Tess co-founded Saxon Stage After Hours, a playwriting, directing, and student production group. She was a Lead Critic in the Cappies of the National Capital Area for youth theater journalism in the D.C. Area.
Tess also wrote the book, music, and lyrics for her original musical, Static, which she will workshop with The Raue Center for the Arts later this summer.

Göran Norquist (Asst. Director/Asst. Stage Manager/Teacher Liaison) is an actor, teacher, director, musician, writer, and usually pretty tired. He has a BFA and an MFA in Acting and has been an actor for over 17 years working in California, Chicago, Texas, and most recently, his living room. Some favorite past roles include Sweeney in Sweeney Todd, Bottom in Midsummer, Amos Hart in Chicago, and Olivia in Twelfth Night. He recently wrote his first full-length play, LOST MEN (and the boys we are), which had its first reading. He also composed all the music for a radio production of The Tempest during the pandemic. Göran was raised in shame-based theatre environments and believes shame doesn’t help anyone. He believes that the more we heal the more fully we can be our true selves, and the more we can do that, the better artists and people we will become.

Hannah Patton (Stage Manager) is an incoming junior BFA Stage Management student at Millikin University. She is the stage manager and props master for Moana Jr, her first show outside of her school setting. Her previous sophomore year credits include; The Spell of Red River (ASM): Millikin University, Macbeth (Props Designer & Scenic Asst.): Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre, Solstice: A Concert of Dance (SM): Millikin University, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Scenic Designer): Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre, Misery (ASM): Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre. She is also Production Manager for Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre’s ’24-’25 Season, and Administrative Assistant for Millikin’s Shakespeare Correct Program. Stage managing has always been a passion of Hannah’s as she loves facilitating the artistic process and being able to watch all the departments collaborate to create work many continue to love. Her love for props designing came from a childhood of diy-ing and always being able to see potential in creating art from almost nothing. She is exited to be working with the Raue Center for her first professional job and hopes more come in the future. She thanks and loves all her family and friends that support her in this life, and hopes everyone enjoys the show!

Katie Witt (Teacher Assistant/Youth Coordinator) – is so excited to be back at the Raue Center and RCSA! Katie is a Chicagoland actor who has worked on numerous theater productions since she was young. She is excited to be stepping backstage as a Teaching Assistant for RCSA’s Moana Jr. Previous shows she has done and enjoyed include A Christmas Carol, Metropolis; The Bad Seed, Jedlicka PAC; and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Raue Center. Katie wants to thank both the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication! (P.S. If a student in the cast has read this far, come see Katie for a fun treat 😜

Maya Smith (Teacher Assistant/Youth Cordinator) is excited to return to the Raue as a teaching assistant for Moana Jr. She is a Musical Theatre and Marketing Major at Augustana College. She was a previous student with Raue School for the Arts and was also in William Street Rep’s production of the Addams Family. She believes that every kid should get a chance to perform and is excited to be a part of this journey!

Amy Cole (Costume Designer) has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan, but her creative flair has steered her path in a different direction. After getting involved with theater as a parent volunteer when her children were the performers, she has expanded her experience and talent to design costumes for Three Brothers Theatre (Boeing Boeing), Standing Ovation Theatre (Seussical), Metropolis Performing Arts Center (Xanadu), the Northwestern University Opera (Die Fledermaus), and many other schools, park districts, and theater groups in the Chicago area. She has worked in various other offstage roles including choreography (Nunsense) and stage management (Proof), as well as appearing onstage in such shows as Afghanistan/Wisconsin (Navy Chaplain) and Miracle on 34th Street (Foster Mother/Elf Q). She is the Touring Company Manager for Red Clay Dance Company and also a school bus driver. She is married with three children and lives in Gurnee. She has worked on over 20 shows in the past year and feels that theater is a boon to the exhilaration she gets from trying something new.

CHRIS TUMBLIN (Director of Production) is excited to be back at Raue Center since his tenure from 2002-2012. After gaining additional experience at other venues, he returned in October 2022. Chris brings with him over 20 years of experience.

RYAN MEADOW has over ten years of experience in the theater and corporate audio-visual industries with a background in Production Lighting and video. Ryan enjoys planning and executing different projects and helping to bring someone’s dream and imagination to life. He also enjoys working in the performing arts on all levels from people with a newfound interest in the arts all the way to experienced acts keeping their passion alive and helping to inspire the next generation of performers.

LISA GIEBLER (Scenic Designer/Technical Director) has worked in the Chicagoland area for over 15 years as a carpenter, painter, and mixed-material artist. She has worked in mostly educational theatre but is happy to join the Raue team as the Technical Director for WSRep and RCSA.

Robin M. Hughes (Executive Producer/Production Manager) is excited to have joined the Raue team! Previously at Williams Street Rep, she directed Emma! A Pop Musical, Love Letters, First Date, and Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical. Robin began her professional career as an actor at The Guthrie Theatre in her hometown of Minneapolis, MN, and later graduated with her MFA in Acting from IL State University. Robin moved to Chicago after winning the Steppenwolf Acting Fellowship. Since then, she has also enjoyed directing, casting, teaching, and is particularly passionate about producing new works. Currently, Robin is a professor at Dominican University and is a proud full member of the Stage Director and Choreographers Union.

Rob Scharlow (RCSA Director of Education) – is an award-winning director and has spent 35+ years working in the performing arts which has taken him across the country working as a director, actor, teacher, and more. For the past 17 years, he worked for the internationally acclaimed performing arts training center, Stagedoor Manor in New York. During his time there, his journey began as a director/teacher, transitioning into the role of Director of Education for 11 years and then serving as Associate Artistic Director.
Rob also oversaw the Dramafest program which helped to develop new and exciting 10-minute plays by young writers. No stranger to the Raue Center, he spent time working as a marketing intern and appeared in several productions including the role of Sweeney Todd in William Street Rep’s production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (BroadwayWorld.com Best Actor Nominee), Hands on a Hardbody and Barefoot in the Park. He also directed their production of Search for Signs of Intelligent Life. With 150+ directing credits under his belt, some of his most memorable productions include; Ride the Cyclone: High School Edition where he had the opportunity to direct and help workshop the first production designed specifically for high school-aged performers. Evil Dead: The Musical in which he helped in the creation of the High School Edition working closely with Dramatic Publishing and the creators of the show.
Other favorite directing credits include Evita, High Fidelity, BARE, Spring Awakening, Carrie: The Musical, In the Heights, BKLYN the Musical, The Toxic Avenger, Big Fish, Rock of Ages, You Can’t Take It With You, and more. On the flip side of things, some favorite acting credits include; Billy Flynn in Chicago, Lockstock in Urinetown, Phantom in Phantom, Jon in Tick, tick…BOOM!, El Gallo in The Fantasticks and others.

James Mablin (Resident Music Director) hails from London, England. He has musically directed and/or played Keyboards in over a hundred shows. Favorites include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat (UK Tour), Whistle Down the Wind (UK Tour), High School Musical (World Premiere – Stagedoor Manor, NY), Caroline or Change (Cyrano’s Theatre Company, AK), Little Shop of Horrors (Thin Air Theatre Company, CO), The Toxic Avenger (Thin Air Theatre Company, CO) and Into the Woods (Slow Burn Theatre Company, FL).
As an educator, James ran the musical theatre program at a large college in London, was a professor & musical theatre specialist at The Yale School of Drama, and most recently on the Musical Theatre faculty at Auburn University as their resident Music Director. James is also the Associate Artistic Director and head of the music department at Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center, named one of the top summer theatre programs in the world.
James has written the vocal arrangements and musically directed opening and closing numbers for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade including the Emmy award-winning song “Join Our Parade”. In January of 2024, James is thrilled to be stepping into the role of Resident Music Director for the Raue Center for the Arts.
