Your Mouth is My Spring

that kiss with those madcap lips
makes me wonder
(makes me wander)
How Deep is the Ocean?
of those blues;

& that ivory skin tickling
my unnatural black pupils
like Robert Browning
l’ll sing of you-

so, speak soft, love
those whispers in my ear
that I can hardly hear

that leave me here
with those cheek’s blushed hue-

tell me about jazz
when you sing it,
our love is simple
when your kisses pull
with those madcap lips.

-P.C. Denofrio
